I care. Because religion IS the root of all evil.

I care...because I am tired of seeing so many laws that are based on the concept of sin, and because I am tired of governmental bodies that won't block such laws because they are afraid to stand up to religious fanatics.

Religion is not the root of all evil - faith is the root of all evil. Faith, which is belief in the absence of evidence, allows belief in anything. Belief in witches and burning of witches, belief that virgins await you in paradise if you fly airplanes into buildings, belief that all of human history makes the triumph of soviet communism inevitable, belief that god hates, well everything and anything you hate.

What evils could man have avoided merely by asking, "What is the evidence for this?"
