National Atheist Registry

I just came across something kind of scary today. There's this fellow named Pastor Mike who wants all atheists put on a national registry like sex offenders!
Link
Pastor Mike's blog only allows members of his blog to comment so I guess I'll comment on his blog post here on mine. As to why atheists don't want to be put on a national registry - why on earth would we want to be put on a conservative Christian target list? We already get threats galore from such groups. Some conservative Christian who is also mentally unwell is apt to start killing people on the list!

So, in case anything happens to me or any other outspoken atheist you know, please direct the FBI to Pastor Mike.

Update: It looks as if Pastor Mike began to feel shame for posting hate speech on his blog so now his blog can only be accessed by its members. So here's a link to someone who quoted a big hunk of the text of Pastor Mike's post and actually deserves to get views on his blog.

Wow, what a nutjob, and even scarier that he seems to be in some kind of position? Or is he a pastor only in his mind?

Did nutcases like him exist before the internet, or did the internet create them? He is seriously scary.

He's now posting atheist e-mail addresses on his blog (I found a visible cached version), and offering to send them along with IP addresses and other information to Christians who want them, for the information to be distributed and used as each person wishes. Sick.

Some of what his blog post says:

"if you're an atheist and have a PUBLIC atheist website / blog , organization , etc..then why would you object to me , or ANYONE simply placing your name , home town ( i.e., city and state ) in a nationwide registry? It's no different than if I were to expose KKK or neo-Nazi members from one of their PUBLIC hate sites... And , one more thing , any e-mails I receive , I will consider them MY property , and WILL , from this point forward , take it that any e-mails and/or electronic transmissions you send me are MY property , and that by sending them you are giving me permission to PUBLICLY post any and all info in them in any forum , written or otherwise that I so choose , as well as distributing the info to anyone and in any way I so choose - up to and including the e-mail and / or your ISP info!...That being said , to all my brothers and sisters in Christ , I will give you - free of charge - those e-mails and related info , as well as the complete unedited full e-mail messages. All you need to do is e-mail me with a physical address to 'snail mail' them to you , as I am in the process of printing them out and will mail them in a manilla envelope , and will also send more to you as I continue to receive them."

Lovely, isn't he?

The parallels to Nazi registration of Jews must have been pointed out to Pastor Mike. Let's hope that they are known to all such ideology-mongers.

cheers from sunny Vienna, zilch

I saw this a few months ago and emailed him to try to get added to the list. I never got a response.
